Dovbik: I think I won’t go anywhere in winter, summer is another matter

The striker does not want to miss the chance to play in Europe

Attack Dnepr-1 Artem Dovbik talked about plans for next year. The striker wants to go to one of the European championships.

“I hope that I won’t spend the whole year in the UPL. Although I do not bother myself with a possible transfer. I read that Mikhail Mudrik said that he would be upset if he was not released in the winter. In the winter, I don’t think I’ll go anywhere. Summer is another matter.

“The club wants us to fight for first place, for the Champions League. Then they can say that they need help in this tournament? Well, you know. So then you can generally miss your European chance. I will always thank Dnepr-1, I will be a patriot of this club, but I have a dream.”

“We all, however, have a different, common dream – to defeat our enemy. Let’s just think about that for now. Then everything else.”

Earlier, Dnipro-1 head coach Oleksandr Kucher said he expected Dovbik to remain with the team until the summer. The mentor believes that the striker is able to perform brightly in the European top championship.

For the second year in a row, Dovbik has been recognized as the best UPL player of the outgoing year according to the players and coaches of Ukrainian clubs. During the voting, Artem was ahead of Shakhtar’s winger Mykhailo Mudrik.

Dnipro-1 is leading in the Ukrainian championship, ahead of Shakhtar by five points. The national championship will resume in March. Also in the spring, the team of Oleksandr Kucher will play with the Cypriot AEK in the 1/16 finals of the Conference League.
