Gymnasts Averina told how they are adjusting to life without sports

Several world champions Dinah and Arina Averine admitted that they have adapted to life without major sports tournaments and consider it interesting and diverse.

At the end of February, the executive committee of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) recommended that federations ban Russian and Belarusian athletes from participating in competitions because of the situation in Ukraine. On Thursday, the gymnasts performed at a gala concert with the participation of world stars of the stage at the Irina Viner Gymnastics Palace.

– What was the main thing this year? Probably the fact that we tried to play with a new program and according to new rules, got into MGIMO, held master classes all over Russia. Thanks to Irina Alexandrovna (Wiener), who organized many concerts with live music, we experienced different emotions. The year has been smooth and varied, Arina told reporters.

– You try yourself in new roles. What does it do?

“Life without sports is interesting,” Dina replied. — When we are not training, we are learning, we are working with children. It seemed to me that it would be very difficult to enter this life, because we were always in the corridor. In the end, no, it’s not difficult.

– How difficult is it to perform at concerts?

– Performing at concerts is unusual, as the spotlight shines on you. Losses (of items) are specifically related to light, not health. We have fully recovered, we are not complaining.
