Monaco may be required to pay tax on the profits from the sale of a footballer
Monaco midfielder transfer Aureliena Tchouameni in Real delayed due to tax issue.
The Spanish State Treasury considers the Principality of Monaco an offshore zone, so the Monaco football club may be required to pay 24% of the profits of 60 million euros that it can earn from the deal.
Real Madrid is ready to pay 80 million euros for the transfer of 22-year-old Tchuameni. Two years ago, Monaco paid 20 million for the Bordeaux player.
Monaco hopes that the Royal Club will pay about 15 million more, but the Spanish side does not agree with this option.
Sources close to the player claim that the problem is exaggerated and the transfer should be completed next week.
Tchouameni is expected to sign a five-year contract with Real Madrid. For the sake of moving to Madrid, Aurelien refused Liverpool and PSG.
Tchouameni played in 50 Monaco games last season, scoring five goals and providing three assists.
This year, Real Madrid became the champion of Spain, and tomorrow they will play with Liverpool in the Champions League final.
