“We had to limit the participation of athletes solely on the basis of their passport. However, we enter 2023 with hope and optimism. The world needs a force for good,” Bach told the AP.
Recall that in February 2022, the IOC Executive Committee had recommended to international federations not to allow Russians and Belarusians to participate in international competitions.
It is not yet known whether the athletes will be able to participate in the 2024 Olympics. The game will be held in the capital of France – Paris.
