Silver medalist of the Russian Figure Skating Championship Pierre Gumennik recalled in an interview with how he left the band Alexei Mishin .
Gumennik took second place at the Russian Championship in Krasnoyarsk. The first was Evgeny Semenenko (295.07). Gumennik scored the same number of points (295.07), but took second place, as he scored lower for the free program: 190.60 points compared to 195.92 points for Semenenko.
– How are your relations with the coach (Veronika Daineko) built? This beginning seemed to reveal that in your work together there are great emotions on both sides.
– Yes, Veronika Anatolyevna is an emotional person, in fact. And me too. Although outwardly and not to say, probably. Our relations are very good. I respect her a lot, and she likes me too, I think.
– It’s just that in Mishin’s group there were questions about how much attention was given to you. Why did you switch to Daineko then, when there are more eminent specialists?
– I skated with Mishin for almost eight years. All this time, Tamara Nikolaevna Moskvina was nearby. That is, at first we had ice in single skaters, then in greenhouses. Sometimes I even went to this ice in Yubileiny, where couples skated. I knew Tamara Nikolaevna. She came for training, we worked with her on the presentation of the programs. Therefore, it was a logical step for me to go to the newly opened Moskvina club. Veronika Anatolyevna was also with Mishin, as one of the coaches. I knew her too. In fact, she knew my abilities and understood where to lead me further.
Since 2017, Goumennik has been training with Veronika Daineko at the Tamara Moskvina figure skating sports club. Before that, he studied under Alexei Mishin.
