President of Russian Ski Racing Federation (FLGR) Elena Vyalbe told RT about the preparations for the 2022/23 season.
– Everyone, without exception, is focused on the result. If one of the girls in a particular race doesn’t add up, she’ll sob like she didn’t make the top ten in the World Cup. I once said to each of the athletes: there is no need to sprinkle ashes on your head prematurely. Our goal is 2026, and we are moving towards that goal. In this regard, we now have exactly the same preparatory season as before. Therefore, everyone is plowing in training, everyone is trying to show a good result in order to be part of the Olympic team in three and a half years,” Vyalbe said.
The Winter Olympics will be held in Italy from February 6 to 22, 2026.
