Alexey Zheleznyakov, choreographer of the group Eteri Tutberidze believes that the 2020 European champion in women’s singles Alena Kostornaya suitable for doubles performances, but will take years to make the transition.

As a choreographer, I will say from personal experience: Alena is suitable for pair skating. She’s just small. If Kostornaya tries, then everything will be fine! But it takes years. Solo and pair skating are two completely different things. The difficulty with pair skating is that one person takes on the responsibility of a partner. It is a mutual work.

Now the youth are following in their heels. There is a lot of competition in women’s figure skating. Of course, Alena understands this. Let him try to open up in pair figure skating.
