Disqualified synchronized swimmer Nemchinova was not included in the main Russian team – Pokrovskaya

Disqualified Russian synchronized swimmer Maria Nemchinova has not been included in Russia’s main team, Tatyana Pokrovskaya, head coach of Russia’s synchronized swimming team, told .

The International Swimming Federation (World Aquatics) has suspended Nemchinova until May 2024 for an anti-doping rule violation.

– She was not part of the main team of Nemchinov. After the youth team, she ended her career. So now we don’t class her as an active athlete in any way,” Pokrovskaya told .

Nemchinova competed for the Russian national team at the 2014 and 2016 World Junior Championships, where she won two gold medals and one silver.
