First Vice-President of the All-Russian Athletics Federation (VFLA) Irina Privalova says she’s not surprised by the words of the 2014 European Championships bronze medalist in the hammer throw Sergei Litvinov on the use of doping in preparation for the 2012 Olympics.
Previously, Litvinov wrote on social networks that from the end of April to the end of May 2012 he took turinabol and oxandrolone.
– I can in no way comment on his confession, because in 2012 I worked neither in the federation nor in the national team. As for the moral side of the question, I was not surprised by his remarks. Sergei lives in Germany and is under some psychological pressure, and in this state you can tell anything. Let this statement be left to his conscience. Speaking of events that allegedly took place more than ten years ago, he’s not risking anything, he’s just dumping dirt. It is no longer possible to carry out some kind of investigation, but now the situation is such that they will take everyone’s word for it, RT quotes Privalova.
Litvinov has represented teams from Belarus, Germany and Russia on the international stage.
