– In Veronika Daineko’s group, you are an obvious headliner. Isn’t it difficult to train without daily competition?

– It’s hard to talk about. I had the experience of working in the group of Alexei Mishin, there were a lot of people – Artur Gachinsky, Artur Dmitriev, even Evgeni Plushenko. Next to me, a lot of guys have done triple axes, quadruples. But now I have a lot of individual attention and the quads can now be viewed on the internet.

– What are your impressions of working with Plushenko?

– Very cool. Looked at him, admired.

Did you play football with him?

– Were playing. I was usually kicked out…they kicked me out. And our team usually won. Plushenko was basically part of my team.

Why were you a goalkeeper?
