You are recognized for your mathematical approach to figure skating. How do you assess the probability of equal scores in the Russian Championship?

– You can count in different ways. You must define an interval. Let’s say 200 to 300 points. And then we multiply 100 by 100 – we get 10 thousand. So, the probability of identical ratings is 1 in 10,000. But that’s just one way of calculating. It can be calculated according to the content. In any case, the probability will be low. But sooner or later it had to happen (laughs).

Did you discuss this topic with Zhenya Semenenko? Maybe he even jokingly apologized?

No, why should he apologize? We didn’t tell him about it. Discussed after the competition and forgotten.
