Costume designer Kolobova: “We found options with the logistics. As our president said, “everything will be better, business will adjust”

Russian costume designer Svetlana Kolobova, in an interview with , said that material supply problems are behind us, despite the difficult international situation.

Kolobova was nominated for the International Skating Union (ISU) award in the Best Costume category for the dresses of American figure skater Isabeau Levito.

— It’s good that in the current situation you have foreign customers. Creativity and sport always come together.

– Yes. Although I thought our work with foreigners would decrease, it has only increased. Sometimes they enthusiastically ask, how does work work in a new situation? In general, they try not to advertise anymore.

So we made a costume for Brian Orser, or rather his figure skater. I asked the athlete’s mother: “Ask for Brian’s autograph, please, at least on the sketch.” He said when this is all over he will sign and make sure to take a picture. They are very careful.

Are there supply issues? Fabrics, rhinestones?

— We have already found options with the logistics. As our president said, “everything will be fine, business will adjust”. And yet, there are many friend-clients who travel often and bring us what we need in private.

How do you work remotely?

– Tremendous! We recorded a video in English on how to take action, sometimes we help – we activate it online if customers are hesitant about something. Everything and everyone fits perfectly: from Japan to Australia.
