“Handball players from” Gomel “failed in attack in the match against” SKA-Minsk “- coach Mochalov

Gomel handball players made many unforced offensive errors in the SEHA-Gazprom League match against SKA-Minsk, Gomel head coach Andrey Mochalov said.

On Saturday, SKA-Minsk defeated Gomel with a score of 37:26 in the away match of the 5th round of the group stage of the tournament.

– An opponent with a good game and a win! Unfortunately, we didn’t do much today. The start was quite good, defended in defense, but, unfortunately, missed in attack. We made a lot of unforced errors, for which the opponent immediately punished us with quick counterattacks. Unfortunately, a lot of things didn’t work out, there weren’t enough emotions somewhere, the quality of the game today wasn’t good enough. We will continue to work and try to correct our mistakes. The next game is Wednesday. There is not much time for preparation, so we will continue to work,” Mochalov told the official tournament website.

– I want to agree with what the coach said – the start of the first half of the first half played well, defended in defense, even succeeded in attack. And after the first half, the tragedy began. We lost a lot, the opponent immediately took advantage of it, got a lot of fast breaks, said Gomel lineman Mikhail Pilyuk.

SKA-Minsk head coach Igor Papruga admitted his team’s game went well.

“I don’t even want to single out anyone on my team. Everyone tried, everyone was determined to get the result. Good work, good interaction brought us victory. Therefore, I am satisfied with today’s result,” he said.

– Everyone somehow wanted to justify themselves for the previous match with Gomel. Everyone wanted to prove that we could do more. We corrected the mistakes we made in the last game and showed that we could play better, added the Minsk club’s right winger Evgeniy Nikanovich.
