The International Skating Union (ISU) has requested a copy of the full part of the judgment’s reasoning in the Russian figure skater’s doping case. Kamila Valieva and reserves the right to challenge the verdict before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), the organization’s press office told .
Earlier, the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) informed the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) about the decision of the Disciplinary Committee in the case, which became known during the Beijing Olympics. WADA will challenge this verdict at CAS.
– The ISU has taken note that the Disciplinary Committee of the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) has made a decision in the case of Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva. The Tribunal found that although the Athlete committed an anti-doping rule violation, there was “no fault or negligence” on his part. Thus, the court pronounced no sanction, except the disqualification of his results on the date of the sample.
The ISU has requested a copy of the full reasoning decision, which it will study carefully, and reserves the right to appeal to CAS, if necessary, the ISU press office told .
Trimetazidine was found in Valieva’s sample dated December 25, 2021.
