How the images were selected for my programs. Chronicle of Alexandra Trusova

I will tell you a bit about the selection of images for programs, the creation of costumes, hair and makeup during competitions.

I had many programs in my life. I like to experiment, to learn something new. Therefore, all programs are different from each other. Different music was used: blues, rock, classical, as well as film soundtracks.

I’ll probably start with first junior short program “Big Spender”which I liked very much. The dress was very unusual – black, velvet with beads. The skirt was not knit as usual, but also velvet. It was hard to jump in this one, and I specifically rode it a lot in practice to get used to it.

This season I had free program under Vivaldi’s “Seasons”. The opposite of a short and unusual image for me. The dress, on the contrary, was incredibly comfortable, I liked it very much.

The next program is “In the Hall of the Mountain King” – was the second short of my first adult season. First they put me on a program with slow music, which I skated on “The Way to Victory” show. The coaches didn’t like it and we decided to replace him with Grieg’s Peer Gynt. After starting to choose a costume, Eteri Georgievna [Тутберидзе] offered a dress transformer. That is, I started skating in a white dress and in the middle I switched to black. He looked very cool! There was a case when at competitions not all the buttons were undone, and the dress did not change.

As for make-up, I myself started doing make-up at the age of 16, as well as doing hairstyles. Before that, my mother was inventing and manufacturing.

The third will be Cruella – a program that I really wanted. I watched the movie several times, noticing different moments. They sewed a practice dress for the rentals, they made a new one for the Grand Prix. For the contest we chose a dress with a newspaper – one of Cruella’s costumes in the movies. The names of my dogs were written on the journal. However, I then realized the dress was heavy for five quads and started skating in the rental one. I painted myself for all the competitions: I looked at several pictures of Cruella with different makeups and tried to do something. The image suited me very well, it is one of my favorite shows.

The fourth program will be “Game of Thrones” and the image of Daenerys. At the end of the season, I was told that I would skate on Game of Thrones next. Then the last season was on, and at that time I hadn’t watched a single episode. Then there were three weeks of vacation, during which I watched the whole series to understand the plot. The first dress was burgundy, very beautiful. But it was decided to do something more similar to Daenerys’ dress. The result was blue and also beautiful! Daniel Markovitch [Глейхенгауз] says that in some photos I look a bit like Daenerys.

The fifth program I will talk about will be “Romeo and Juliet”. Everyone’s favorite picture “Evil Rock”. The idea of ​​​​the dress was very interesting: so that only the tips opened on the way to the steps along all the arms. Therefore, they did not have time to sew it for the first two competitions. It turned out to be very unusual in the end, but I opened spikes in just one competition and two shows. Still, it’s hard to think of spikes in a free program. And at the world championships in Stockholm, I usually cut them off so as not to get in the way! By the way, for the first time at the World Championships, she got involved in competitions herself, her mother couldn’t go due to covid restrictions.

This season’s short program will be the last.. Svetlana Vladimirovna [Соколовская] and Nikita Mikhailov took Ansi Bas La Vida of the two I chose. I’ve wanted to skate to French music for a long time and I’m glad the program was set for me just for that. We chose the costume with Svetlana Vladimirovna, I offered a burgundy color (I think it suits me). Then she asked Olga Ryabenko to create a model for a dress, and she sewed it very well. I invented makeup – in this program for the first time I used colored shadows (bright colors, not black and brown). It turns out that the whole image was complemented by purple earrings, pink blades, burgundy cases. It looked very unusual and beautiful!

I keep all my costumes to myself. There have been many different and interesting images in my career. And they are all very individual.
