indian sprinter Duty Chand suspended from competition on suspicion of an anti-doping rule violation, reports The Hindu.
As noted, in the athlete’s A sample taken out of competition in December last year, traces of andarine, ostarine and ligandrol were found, which fall under the MRSA category and are prohibited by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) rules. In a letter from India’s National Anti-Doping Agency to the athlete dated January 3, she said Chand’s sample was tested in the national lab, the result was unfavorable. The athlete has 7 working days to request a B sample analysis, Chand, 26, faces a four-year ban.
Chand is a two-time 2018 Asian Games silver medalist, a four-time Asian Championships bronze medalist at various distances and a 2019 Universiade winner in the 100m. She holds the Indian record for the 100 meters.
