Stanislav Constantinova there was not enough motivation and will to realize yourself in figure skating, famous St. Petersburg coach Alla Pyatova told RB Sport.
On Friday, Konstantinova announced her retirement at the age of 22.
“It’s hard to say something about Stasya,” says Pyatova. – I already forgot the last time she performed on the ice. Therefore, the fact that she has now announced her retirement seems ridiculous. I haven’t seen her for over two years. Everyone has forgotten her.
– Could it be done better in figure skating?
– You know, there is a period when the girls start “crawling”. So it’s very complicated. You have to grit your teeth and endure. She moved to Moscow, began to study with a good trainer Alexander Volkov, there were good results. But one day, everything disappeared. A bad start and Stasya decided to end her amateur career. I don’t know where you “got” it from.
– Lacking more motivation than talent?
– She’s a good girl, bright, looked good. I did level jumps. But now, of course, I couldn’t compete with anyone, even if I decided to continue.
Konstantinova is the silver medalist of the 2018/19 Grand Prix stage in Finland, she also won bronze at the Krasnoyarsk Universiade. At the 2019 European Championships, the figure skater took fourth place.
