Sobol: I expect a difficult game, but we can beat Scotland

Defender of the Ukrainian national team – about the upcoming match of the playoffs of the selection of the 2022 World Cup

Defender of Brugge Eduard Sobol commented on his arrival at the location national team of Ukraine. The player also shared his thoughts about the upcoming match with Scotland in the play-off semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup qualification.

“Finally, everyone has gathered, I’m glad to see everyone, I want to say hello to all the guys. I am very happy that I came to the national team. We celebrated the championship of Brugge well, the celebration in the team took place after the penultimate round, and at the end we celebrated with the fans,” said Sobol.

“I’m ready to immediately get involved in the affairs of the national team, because the club ones have already ended. Therefore, all thoughts are about the national team. Regarding the Scottish team, I will say that this is a good opponent. I expect a difficult game, but we can beat the Scots. The guys have been preparing for the fight for a long time, so we are in a good mood and good condition.”

“In addition, we are very motivated by the struggle of our soldiers for the freedom and independence of Ukraine. I want to bring joy to people with this and subsequent victories. Therefore, we will do everything in our power to give pleasant emotions to people in Ukraine.”

Sobol has scored one goal and provided four assists in 36 appearances for Brugge this season. Together with the black and blue, Eduard became the Belgian champion 2021/22.

The Ukrainian national team will play with Scotland on June 1 in Glasgow. The winner of the pair in the final selection will play with Wales.
