The National Center for Sports Arbitration lifted the disqualification of the ex-State Duma deputy of the Russian Federation and honored athletics coach Olga Pavlova, sports lawyer Anna Antseliovich told .
– She was suspended by the Anti-Doping Disciplinary Commission for two years in accordance with the anti-doping rules allegedly in force for 2011. When our lawyers were preparing a position, we argued that at that time the anti-doping rules were not in force – they had been approved by order of the Ministry of Sports, but had not entered into force. The act in violation of which she was accused did not work. Additionally, our lawyers argued that RUSADA could not prove to a sufficient level that Pavlova violated anti-doping rules,” Antseliovich said.
RUSADA’s Anti-Doping Disciplinary Commission previously disqualified Pavlova for violating All-Russian Anti-Doping Rules Paragraph 2.6 (Possession of a Prohibited Substance or Prohibited Method).
As previously reported, RUSADA accused Pavlova of acquiring potent substances banned in sports from another athletic trainer. The trainer who distributed the substances has already been disqualified by RUSADA for four years and prosecuted.
