Laishev on postponement of Russian Figure Skating Grand Prix final in Sochi: ‘It makes sense, it’s hard to go now’

Logistical difficulties argue in favor of postponing the March final of the Russian Grand Prix in figure skating from the resort town of Sochi to St. Petersburg, the president of the Sambo-70 Sports and Educational Center told . Renat Laishev .

On Sunday, Olympic champion Alexei Yagudin announced the transfer of the competition to Saint Petersburg.

– It is logical, because it is difficult to go there (to Sochi) now, and it is not the season. Of course, the city is growing, a lot of people are moving there, but in any case, it’s more of a resort town than a living town,” Laishev told .

The Russian Grand Prix Final is scheduled for March 3-5, 2023.
