Kamila Konotop failed to defend her European weightlifting title in the competition in Tirana. In competitions in the Albanian capital, a Ukrainian athlete in the up to 55 kg category took home “small” silver in the snatch with a mark of 94 kg. In the clean and jerk he lifted 113 kg and won “little” gold.
However, the value of 207 kg is not enough to be the strongest again on the continent. In terms of biathlon, the 2021 European champion lost to the hostess of the tournament, the representative of Albania, Evagelia Veli, who in total showed a result of 208 kg.
Note that another Ukrainian athlete – Svetlana Samulyak, stopped one step from the medal. With the result of 198 kg, he took fourth last place in the European Championship.
