Russian figure skater Eugenie Medvedeva support MoscowDynamo shared his impressions of visiting the capital club’s training camp in the United Arab Emirates.
Previously, Medvedeva came to Dynamo’s training camp in Abu Dhabi to take part in the club’s media activities. The figure skater came to the team’s home games in Moscow more than once.
– What are your first impressions of the training camp with the team?
– These are such Vietnamese flashbacks, because for many years I went to training camps myself, and this is my first training camps in 6-7 years. Even though I’m here as an observer, I still feel part of this preparation.
– What is the difference between training camps for footballers and figure skaters?
– Training camp for soccer players is very similar to dry training camp for figure skaters without ice training. These are two training sessions that take place outdoors, under the sun, according to a roughly identical schedule. We also have running exercises, courses with rubber bands, jump ropes, spinners for training the vestibular apparatus. But, of course, football players have their own specialized exercises, which skaters are unlikely to find useful.
– What did you like least about training camp?
– Yes all. Collections are very difficult, a colossal burden. Need to get back in shape after a long vacation. Training camp is hell, but then in the season it’s a lot easier. Now I sympathize with the guys, but I don’t want to work with them, I prefer to watch as an observer (laughs),” Dynamo’s official website quotes Medvedev.
