Athletistic/ Figure Skating. Today, January 25, the European Figure Skating Championship started in Finland. The Old World Championship will be held without the participation of Russian skaters due to sanctions imposed in February last year.
The famous Tatyana Tarasova expressed her belief that the European Championship in Espoo would be inferior without the representatives of Russia. Tarasova suggested that all European Championship medals would go to national figure skaters if they were allowed to come to Finland.
“I will watch the European Championships, but there’s really no one to watch. Without the Russian skaters, the interest in the tournament won’t decrease, but it will be pointless,” Tarasova said. If the Russian skaters participated in the European Championships? Well, of course we would win. We would have won in women, we would have won in couples, we would have won in dance, we would have won all types,” Tarasova said as quoted by ‘Sport Day by Day’.
