Vice-President of the All-Russian Athletics Federation (VFLA) Irina Privalova in an interview with , she said she had doubts about restoring the federation’s membership to the board of directors of the World Athletics Association (World Athletics).
ARAF’s membership of World Athletics was suspended in 2015 amid a large-scale doping scandal, with Russian athletes only allowed to compete after being granted neutral status. In November 2022, World Athletics did not restore ARAF membership to its list, but recommended that the task force do so in March 2023. Now Russians are not allowed to participate in international tournaments in because of the situation in Ukraine.
