The Asian Olympic Committee has invited the Russians and Belarusians to perform at the 2023 Asian Games

At the same time, the Asians claim that they are “in solidarity with Ukraine” and agree to sanctions against the aggressor country and its accomplices.

The Asian Olympic Committee (OCA) has officially invited athletes from Russia and Belarus to participate in competitions in Asia, including the Asian Games 2023, which will be held in Hangzhou, China.

“The Asian Olympic Committee joins the Olympic Movement in supporting the IOC Executive Board’s statement of solidarity with Ukraine, sanctions against Russia and Belarus and the status of athletes from these countries.

OKA believes in the unifying power of sport and that all athletes, regardless of their nationality or passport, should be able to compete in sport. OKA proposes to give qualified Russian and Belarusian athletes the opportunity to compete in Asia, including the Asian Games.

The Asian Olympic Committee remains on standby while the IOC continues to explore ways to return Russian and Belarusian athletes to competition under strict conditions,” OKA said in a statement.

Recall that earlier the Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine and the President of the NOC of Ukraine Vadim Gutzeit did not exclude that Ukrainian athletes may boycott the Olympics if Russians and Belarusians are allowed to compete, the IOC is began to consider the issue of their return.
