Djokovic beats Paul to reach 10th Australian Open final

Serb reaches 33rd Grand Slam final

Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic became the second Australian Open 2023 finalist.

Djokovic defeated Tommy Paul of the United States in three sets in the semifinals. The American managed to fight on equal terms only in the first game, when he fought back from 1:5, but then lost to Novak the next two games.

Djokovic made his tenth Australian Open semi-final appearance and won his tenth. The Serbian tennis player has never lost in the final of the Australian Major. The win over Paul was Djokovic’s 27th consecutive win on the courts of the tournament, making it the longest winning streak in tournament history.

Djokovic will also play in the Grand Slam final for the 33rd time. This is the best result in history.

Djokovic will face Stefanos Tsitsipas for his 22nd Grand Slam title. The victory in the final will allow the Serbian tennis player to catch up with Rafael Nadal in the number of major titles and return to the first line in the ATP rankings.
