Bogdan Tsymbal became the best in the Ukrainian team, finishing 17th
Norwegian biathlete Erlenn Bientegaard won the men’s sprint European Championship 2023.
Erlenn passed the track without penalties, which allowed him to be 11 seconds ahead of his compatriot Webierna Serum, who missed twice at the shooting range. Won a bronze medal Philip Navratt from Germany.
Four Ukrainians entered the top 30 of the sprint race. The best among them was Bogdan Tsymbalranked 17th. Denis Nasyko and Taras Lesyuk became 23rd and 24th respectively, two Ukrainians were separated by 0.1 seconds. Artem Prima took 27th place, Anton Dudchenko — 33rd, Artem Tishchenko 37th. Thus, all six were selected for the pursuit.
Earlier, Ukrainian Anastasia Merkushina became the European champion in the sprint. Recall that Ukraine won two more silver medals in individual races thanks to the efforts of Yulia Dzhima and Anton Dudchenko.
The competition will continue with women’s and men’s pursuit on January 28. On the last day of the European Championship, teams will compete for medals in mixed and single mixed relays.
