One of the participants in the amateur marathon, held in the Yaroslavl region, died a few meters before the finish line.
The region’s acting head, Mikhail Evraev, announced the tragedy on his Telegram channel.
– Today’s start of the “Run along the Golden Ring” in Rostov Veliky ended in great misfortune. One of the participants died – Vyacheslav Isakov. He fell ill a few meters before the finish line. The man is an experienced marathon runner, participating in many races in different cities of the country. Doctors performed emergency resuscitation at the scene, but were unable to help.
