The winner of the Russian-Chinese Youth Games, Russian figure skater Fedor Zonov, said he was not very happy with his performance in the short program at the St. Petersburg Championships. The skater’s words are reported by the correspondent.
Zonov scored 79.61 in the short program and takes an intermediate fourth place. Leading by 105.08 Marat Ignatov.
– It’s not difficult for me to be the first, I like to skate first. When I released that starting number, I was happy. Of course, I’m a bit unhappy with the rental itself. The stunt was badly done, even if in training it always goes well. We are going to wrap the program in order to have enough strength for a perfect performance.
— How do you feel about the Russian-Chinese Games?
– We flew to China, I really liked that. Happy to win. For me, it’s an incentive to progress and win other major tournaments.
The St. Petersburg Figure Skating Championship takes place on January 28-29.
