Russian figure skater Dmitry Kozlovsky acting in concert with Alexandra Boykova admitted that they failed to hire a short program at the St. Petersburg Championship, and also noted that he did not follow the European Championship.
Boikova and Kozlovsky took second place in the short program (75.06 points). Anastasia Mishina and Alexander Gallyamov lead (87.50).
Boikova declined to comment.
– What can you say about your rental today?
“You can’t say that he succeeded. Alas, it happens. Nevertheless, we rode smoothly and calmly. There were problems with individual elements, there was fatigue, but we tried, – the correspondent reports Kozlovsky’s words.
– Which is better – to compete or to train?
– There is a charm both in competition and in training.
— What can you say about the European Championship?
“We didn’t look, it’s not at all interesting. You understand: I saw the picture. Once we won the European Championship with points above 230, our colleagues (indicating Mishina and Gallyamov) – usually with points below 240. And now people barely earn 200.
– How about the latest news from the IOC that they are considering returning Russian athletes to international competitions.
– I want concrete information, not abstract conversations. We await the final decision and hope that it will be in our favour.
The European Championship takes place from January 25 to 28 in Espoo, Finland. The duet competition was won by Italians Sarah Conti/Niccolò Machii with a score of 195.13 points. Russian athletes have been suspended from participating in international competitions due to the situation in Ukraine.
