Three-time Olympic medalist, water polo player Ageev dies at 87

Honored master of sports of the USSR, three-time Olympic medalist, silver medalist of the European Water Polo Championship Viktor Ageev has died, reports the official website of the Russian Water Polo Federation.

Ageev was 86 years old. He won the silver of the 1960 Games, as well as the bronze of the 1956 Olympics and the 1964 Olympics. Ageev – Honored coach of the RSFSR, honored worker of physical culture and sports, multiple winner of the championships of USSR, three-time winner of the Spartakiad of the Peoples of the USSR.

“We express our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Viktor Ivanovitch, his bright memory will forever remain in our hearts,” the message read.
