The restrictions are aimed at excluding these countries from international sporting organizations, depriving their athletes of the right to participate in international competitions, as well as depriving them of the right to hold international competitions. competition in the territory of these countries.

“On May 30, 125 sanctions were introduced against Russia and Belarus in the field of sports.

On behalf of and in liaison with the Office of the President of Ukraine, the Ministry of Sports is working to increase the pressure of sanctions on countries conducting full-fledged armed aggression against Ukraine.

Our goal is the complete separation of Russians and Belarusians from the elite sports in the world until the territorial integrity of Ukraine is restored and all losses caused by them are compensated.

On May 30, involved:

Olympic sports – 43 penalties,

non -Olympic – 68 penalties,

Paralympic – 12 penalties,

joint Olympic and non -Olympic – 2 sanctions.

Among the most vulnerable is the ban on Russians and Belarusians from participating in the 2022 World Games, ”Gutzeit said.
