The defender’s contract is for two years with an option to extend for another season.
Miner’s Defender Sergey Krivtsov officially moved to Inter Miami. The Ukrainian signed a contract until the end of the 2024 season with the option of extending for another season.
“Sergei is a reliable defender who will provide valuable experience to our defensive line after many years of playing at the highest level both for club and country. He is reliable in the air and has strong leadership skills as he was vice-captain in the Ukrainian club. Sergei arrives after the pre-season with Shakhtar, so he is ready to be included in the group,” said Chief Football Officer and Sports Director Chris Henderson.
Earlier it was reported that Kryvtsov was in talks with David Beckham’s club. Sergey’s contract with the Miners expired in the summer, but Shakhtar agreed to let the defender go now.
Kryvtsov has made 11 appearances for Shakhtar in all competitions this season without scoring.
Inter Miami finished sixth in the Eastern Conference of the regular season and were eliminated in the 1/8 finals of the 2022 MLS playoffs. The new season in the US Elite Division starts on February 25th.
