Rodnina – on admitting Russians under a neutral flag: “the IOC has no right to do this”

Athletistic/ Figure Skating. Recently, the IOC made a statement on the possible admission of Russian athletes to international competitions. We are talking about performances under a neutral flag. Irina Rodnina, three-time Olympic figure skating champion, spoke about it.

– The athlete has a task. The State which trains the athlete has a different task. The previous decision was made due to the fact that the athletes violated the regime. We lost a lot of medals, we can’t get away from the facts. Now, this is a purely political question. And the IOC has no right to do that,” Rodnina told SE.
