South Korea will demand clarification on the admission of Russian and Belarusian athletes to the 2023 Asian Games

Asian Games to be held in Hangzhou, China

Sports and Olympic Committee of South Korea (KSOC) will require additional clarifications with the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) regarding admission of athletes from Russia and Belarus to the Asian Games-2023.

KSOC plans to send an official letter to the OCA this week asking for an answer on how the continental body will host the Asian Games this year with the participation of athletes from Russia and Belarus.

The IOC is ready to consider the possibility of admitting athletes from Russia and Belarus to international competitions. In this case, everyone who wishes will be required to act in a neutral status. Also, athletes should not support the war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and pass a mandatory doping test.

The Olympic Summit, chaired by IOC President Thomas Bach, unanimously agreed to accept an initiative proposed by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) to allow athletes from Russia and Belarus to take part in its competitions.

The OCA also officially invited athletes from Russia and Belarus to take part in the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.
