Athletistic/ Others. The official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, reacted on Wednesday February 1 to the latest statement by the Minister of Sports of Poland, Kamil Bortnichuk.
An official from Warsaw expressed the opinion that it is time to create a coalition that will oppose the participation of Russian athletes in the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
“It’s something that just goes against world sport, when a coalition forms within world sport to prevent athletes from other countries,” Zakharova said.
“Simply tell it as it is. Already open the cards, share the vital, the intimate: you are just afraid of competition. You do not know how to resist Russian athletes. You saw with horror that sport was revived again and with renewed vigor in the post-Soviet space,” said Zakharova, whose words are quoted by the agency RIA News.
