Barcelona beat Betis to secure their Liga lead

Xavi’s team extend their lead over Real Madrid to eight points

Barcelona away won Betis (2:1) in the postponed match of the 17th round Spanish Championship.

Rafinha put the Catalans ahead in the first half, but the winger’s goal was ruled out for offside. After the break, Barcelona nevertheless took the lead – this time Rafinha’s goal was scored according to the rules.

At the end of the meeting, Robert Lewandowski scored Barcelona’s second goal. Betis closed the gap thanks to an own goal by Jules Kunde, but the home team did not have enough for more.

Barcelona leads the Spanish Liga, eight points ahead of Real Madrid. The Blancos will host Valencia on February 2 at home. Betis remained in sixth position in the standings.

In the next match, Barcelona will host Sevilla on February 5 at home. Betis will play Celta on February 4th.
