Athletistic / Others. The sports ministers of Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia and Poland have published a joint open letter. In it, they condemned the intention of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to send athletes from Russia and Belarus back to international competitions.

“Attempts to return Russian and Belarusian athletes to international competitions, hiding them under a cloak of neutrality, will legalize political decisions and propaganda in these countries. To the detriment of sport, the authorities will divert attention from events in Ukraine.

The IOC has said that the decision on the participation of Russians and Belarusians in the 2024 Olympic Games has not yet been taken

We highly appreciate all international sports federations and organizations that have decided to suspend athletes and representatives from Russia and Belarus until these countries cease their activities in Ukraine,” the letter reads.
