Chelsea appoint two new sporting directors

Lawrence Stewart and Paul Winstanley will work closely with Graham Potter and his coaching staff

Lawrence Stewart and Paul Winstanley appointed to the positions of sporting directors of Chelsea. They will control the entire sports process in the team, including selection, transfers and data collection.

Winstanley joined the team last November and oversaw Chelsea’s January transfer strategy along with the board of directors. Stewart will join the London club next week from Monaco, where he was technical director. They will work closely with Graham Potter and his coaching staff.

In the winter transfer window, Chelsea signed defender Benoît Badiashile, midfielder Andrej Santos, wingers Mihail Mudrik and Noni Madueke, forward David Datro Fofan, defender Malo Gusteau, midfielder Enzo Fernandez, and also loaned striker Joao Felix.

Recall that in December Chelsea appointed Christopher Wivelle as the new technical director. In May 2022, a consortium of American businessman Todd Boely became the new owner of Chelsea.

UK government will give 2.3 billion pounds to Ukraine. The amount is the net proceeds from the sale of Chelsea by Roman Abramovich last year.
