Ukrainian defeated the 63rd racket of the world
Ukrainian tennis player Lesya Tsurenko advanced to the semi-finals tournament WTA 250 in Hua Hin (Thailand).
In the quarterfinals, Tsurenko defeated the 63rd racket of the world Tatyana Maria from Germany. The Ukrainian won both sets 6-1, making six breaks in a match.
Tsurenko reached the semi-finals of the WTA tournament for the first time since January 2019. Then the Ukrainian was able to reach the final at the competition in Brisbane, losing in three sets to Karolina Pliskova.
Lesya will fight for a place in the final with the winner of the match Bianca Andreescu (Canada, 1) – Marta Kostyuk (Ukraine, 5).
