The fight was announced for May 20
Promoter Eddie Hearn believes that he is the undisputed lightweight champion Devin Haney will not experience problems in a battle with a Ukrainian Vasily Lomachenko.
“Haney will skillfully defeat Lomachenko. Vasily is far from what a fighter he was. I think Devin is too big and too long for him,” the promoter said.
Earlier it was reported that the fight between Lomachenko and Haney will take place on May 20. Promoter Bob Arum said the fight could take place in the Middle East, Las Vegas or New York.
Lomachenko defeated American Jemaine Ortiz in his last fight. For the Ukrainian, this was the first and only fight for 10 months.
Last October, Haney defeated George Kambosos again to retain the WBC, WBA Super, IBF and WBO lightweight titles. Devin has repeatedly stated his readiness to face Lomachenko in the ring.
