Previously, the International Olympic Committee had made it clear that Russians would be allowed to participate in the Paris Olympics, but subject to a number of criteria.
IOC officials are prepared to work with athletes who do not officially support the CBO. Moreover, the IOC insists that the Russians compete exclusively under a neutral flag.
“We are a proud and dignified country, we must not allow this. Could you admit that during the USSR, Europe or the West could make such a provocation – and we would fall into the trap? unlikely.
