Athletistic/ Figure Skating. Olympic men’s individual skating champion Alexei Yagudin has assessed the prospect of American figure skater Ilya Malinin at the European Championships, which took place in San Jose, California.

“I haven’t watched the European Championships, but I’m following the results. I didn’t see the point, since ours weren’t there. I don’t know if I’ll include the World Championships , but I would like to see Malinin’s quad axel,” Yagudin is quoted by TASS.

The World Figure Skating Championships will take place in Japan from March 20-26.

Previously, the 18-year-old Malinin was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the first athlete in history to be able to cleanly perform a quadruple axel in competition.
