Athletistic/ Biathlon. Olympic champion Sebastian Samuelsson has explained why he considers the suspension of Russian athletes to be fair. The Swedish biathlete believes that only countries that are not waging hostilities should participate in the Olympics.
Earlier, IOC chief Thomas Bach said the Russians could participate in qualifying tournaments for the 2024 Games under a neutral flag.
“I don’t think it’s discrimination. The Olympic truce implies the absence of military conflicts during the Games and the Paralympics. Russia has violated this principle on several occasions. These are the rules on which everyone is concerned. If you break them, there should be consequences,” said Samuelsson, quoted by Expressen.
