“Six rounds and they’ll both be tired”: Briedis – about the Usyk-Fury fight

Mairis Briedis outlines the factors that can lead to success.

Powerful Latvian boxer Mairis Briedis shares his expectations from his former rival Alexander Usik’s upcoming fight against Tyson Fury.

According to an experienced athlete, today it is impossible to name the favorite of the match, because it depends on many factors.

“Let’s talk about the favorite when the match takes place. Because it is not known when it will take place. It is also very important. It cannot be said that a person will win directly. It depends on various factors: how motivated a person is. be , how the camp will go and how etc.

Fury’s dimensions are, of course, impressive. How he moves, how flexible he is, how he acts in the ring and out of the ring. But this is boxing. We saw what Steve Cunningham did to Fury. He moved from cruiserweights to heavyweights and landed a heavy knockdown in the fourth round, but it wasn’t enough. I think Fury was really shaken at that point.”

Briedis believes the title fight won’t go the full distance.

“I think they will box no more than six rounds and they will both be tired. Six rounds and someone will fall from exhaustion,” said Briedis in an interview on Viktor Yalymov’s Boxing Studio YouTube channel .

It will be remembered that Fury vs Usyk will take place on April 29 in Saudi Arabia or UK.

Earlier, the British boxer noted that he was most worried about the fight with the Ukrainian.
