Six athletes from the Russian Federation received a neutral status and admission to the World Series competitions

They will fly under a neutral flag

Six athletes from the Russian Federation received admission to the competition World Series.

International Association of Athletics Federations (World Athletics) granted neutral status to high jumpers Nikita Kurbanov and Nikita Anishchenkov, long jumpers Artem Chermoshansky and Danil Chechel, Maxim Pyanzin (race walking) and marathon runner Marina Kovaleva.

Recall that the Association disqualified Russian athletes for manipulation with doping tests. Due to non-payment of a fine (5 million dollars), athletes from Russia could not compete in international competitions even in a neutral status.

Earlier, the ex-president of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), Lamine Diack, told the French court that he blocked and slowed down the consideration of doping cases of Russian athletes from 2011 to 2013. The former official said he did it to save a sponsorship deal with Russian banks.

Recently, during the Extraordinary General Assembly of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, NOC members voted for a possible boycott of the 2024 Olympics, which will be held in Paris, if athletes from Russia and Belarus are admitted to the Games.

The IOC believes that a complete ban on the performance of Russian and Belarusian athletes is discrimination and is contrary to the Olympic Charter. The organizers of the 2024 Olympics in Paris said they would adhere to the decision of the International Olympic Committee to allow Russians and Belarusians to compete under a neutral flag.
