Norway, Sweden, Iceland, Finland and Denmark do not want to see athletes from aggressor countries competing.
Norway, Sweden, Iceland, Finland and Denmark are against the return of Russians and Belarusians to sports competitions.
The Olympic and Paralympic National Committees issued a joint statement against the potential return of athletes from aggressor countries to international tournaments.
“1. The situation in Ukraine has not changed.
2. We firmly stand by our position not to allow Russian and Belarusian athletes and officials to participate in international competitions.
3. Now is not the best time to consider their return. This is our position.
4. We take this opportunity to assure our unwavering support for the Ukrainian people and demands for peace.
5. The Nordic Olympic and Paralympic Committee and sports confederations will cooperate and communicate closely with stakeholders to assess and continuously monitor the situation,” the statement said.
Earlier, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia opposed the return of Russians and Belarusians to international competitions.
Remember that the sports leadership of our country allows the boycott of the Olympics in the case of the Russians entering it.
