The great LeBron became the highest scoring player in NBA history
Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James commented on his NBA scoring record.
“I want to say thank you to the dedicated fans of the Lakers – you are one of a kind. Standing next to a great legend like Karim means a lot to me. This is great happiness.”
“Thank you to my beautiful wife, daughter, my two boys, my friends, mom, family. To everyone who has been with me for these 20 years, I want to say a huge thank you, because without you I would not have become myself. All your help, all your passion, all your sacrifices have helped me get to this point.”
“I’m grateful to the leadership of the NBA, Adam Silver, the great David Stern for letting me be part of what I’ve always dreamed of.”
LeBron James, 38, scored 38,390 career points in an NBA regular season game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has 38,387 points, a record he’s held since 1984.
James previously became the first player in NBA history to score over 40 points against all 30 clubs in the league.
James also became the fourth player in NBA history to score 45 points at the age of 38 or older. In October, James broke Karl Malone’s record for most games in which he scored 20 or more points in the NBA.
