Evgeny Alipov’s team beat Estonia
Women’s national ice hockey team of Ukraine won Estonia at the start of the international tournament in Kogtla-Jarve – Baltic Cup-2023.
Yevgeny Alipov’s wards had a big playing advantage during regular time, but the blue-yellows put the squeeze on the representatives of Estonia only in the shootout series.
To determine the strongest, it took the opponents a total of 16 post-match throws. The decisive word still remained with the leader of the Ukrainian national team and the player of the Swiss Ambri-Piotta Daria Tsimirenko – 3:2.
Tomorrow, February 10, the Ukrainians will play their second match at the tournament. Alipov’s team will face the Lithuanian team.
Baltic Cup-2023 is a preparatory stage for the world championship. The rivals of the Ukrainian national team at the 2023 World Cup in division 3A will be the teams of Lithuania, Romania, Estonia, Hong Kong and Bulgaria. The event will take place in Brasov from 3 to 9 April.
