In the opening match of the tournament Winter Cup-2023 Polissya beat Veres in the penalty shootout – 4:3. The main time of the match ended in a draw 3:3.
The First League club scored three goals already in the first half. Halfback of Polissya Vasily Gritsuk scored twice, midfielder Veres Andriy Bliznichenko scored one more goal against the Zhytomyr team.
Before the break, forward Mikhail Shestakov scored one goal from Rivne. And in the second half, Veres managed to reduce the main time to a draw thanks to the goals of Nikolai Gaiduchik and Gennady Pasich.
The winner of the match was determined in a penalty shoot-out, which was more accurately performed by the Polesie players.
